$150.00 will provide cataract surgery and $30.00 will provide a pair of eye glasses for an Achuar Indian in the remote Amazon rainforest.  50 blind patients have been identified to receive cataract surgery from a volunteer team of ophthalmologists from the US who will work with Peruvian doctors.  This is the first time ever that eye care will be provided to this remote population.  The patients will be transported 8 hours by river, each accompanied with a family member, to the hospital in a small town.  Associated Organizations: Pachamama Alliance and Global Sight Alliance.
