This project is located in the traditional village of Tarung, on the island of Sumba in Indonesia. The village was partially burned down two years ago and it is slowly being rebuilt by traditional methods with wood and thatch. As there is no government organized trash collection services, the youth of the village, under the leadership of a local tour guide, are taking action to keep the village clean by organizing regular clean ups and disposal and teaching the families about the importance of a clean environment for health. Further efforts are planned to introduce recycling.
