SIDAREC (Slums Information Development and Resource Centers) started a community high school in Nairobi to provide quality education for children, particularly girls, living in the slums. The school has given a second chance for them to complete their education after facing many challenges like early pregnancies, dropping out due to lack of finances for school fees, peer pressure, drugs and teenage prostitution. Topline School provides mentorships and life skills training before being re-enrolled to complete their high school education. The school has a population of 200 students and 20 staff. Maintaining safety standards is a measure that has to be adhered to within the school environment. The first aid supplies and fire extinguisher are needed to ensure safety at
the school in case of an emergency.
