MEPO (Medical, Education and Peace Organization) has been working in Kabul since 2002. When the Taliban began to retake power in August 2021, hundreds of families in Afghanistan fled to Kabul to take refuge. These internal refuges often came with few belongings. The MEPO staff are locating families that need support and offering such items as food, clothing, medicine and other essential items. These internally displaced people need support, as their day to day lives are turned upside down and the future is quite uncertain. (The children in the photo are not refugee children).
