Students in the vocational training program at Springs of Hope Foundation’s project in Nakuru, Kenya, measure and make school uniforms for the children in the schools of impoverished neighborhoods nearby. It is an empowering experience for the students who, not too long ago, were the ones who went to school dressed in handed-down, torn, worn-out uniforms because their parents were too poor to buy new uniforms. If students do not wear a uniform to school, they will be sent home. This results in a student missing weeks of school, sometimes a full term.
