Severe floods have displaced many families, in a rural village in Assam, destroying their homes and leaving them in extremely difficult living conditions. The families of the village belong to Mishing tribe who are a recognized indigenous community known for their rich cultural heritage and resilience in the face of environmental challenges. Traditionally they dwell along the banks of river Brahmaputra as their primary source of income is from farming and fishing. Despite their resilience, the Mishing people face significant challenges, particularly due to climate change and the increasing frequency of floods.
