These supplies are needed to rebuild an aquaponic building that was critically damaged by a major wind and rain storm. This was one of the Tiong Karanaan community’s main sources of food. The village had about 150 residents who identify as Dunsun, an indigenous ethnic community. In 2022 Seacology funded an aquaponics structure that the village uses to grow vegetables and in return the community is protecting a rainforest preserve from commercial loggers.
