Due to the war, Ukraine is experiencing challenges with their electric grid and infrastructure, therefore many people are without power and could use AA batteries, $.78; portable USB power banks, $10.00; solar powered flashlights, $35.00; solar powered USB charging banks; $108.00; and portable car battery packs, $60.00. Two schools in the village of Shevchenkove, located 75 km south of Kharkiv, were hit by an attack. Children are now spending their days at home, too afraid to go outside and play for fear of being struck. Schools are currently closed during this time, so children are continuing with online distance learning. The students would enjoy supplies such as sketchbooks, colored pencils, felt tip markers, colored construction paper, water colors, erasers, notebook paper, $3.00 per set. They also could use essential clothing such as underwear, socks, gloves and hats, $11.00 per set. A former Peace Corps volunteer and her colleague in Ukraine are coordinating this project which will benefit 75 children ages 3-6 in Kindergarten and 560 students who attend the two schools which were heavily damaged.
